My name is Glen McDonald, I am an Australian living in the Philippines. I am in my mid 60’s.

I grew up in Brisbane Australia and moved to the Gold Coast in my early adult life. Left Australia in 2005, based in Thailand from 2007 to 2009. Then I based myself in Hong Kong from 2009 until 2011 and then moved to the Philippines.

After I left school, I had employment in a Timber Yard before securing an apprenticeship in the Lift Industry. Upon completion of my apprenticeship, I was qualified as an Electrical Fitter and Mechanic Special Class on Lifts. To put it in plain terms I was an Electrician with extra qualifications.

After completing my Apprenticeship, I travelled around Australia for 12 months before deciding to live on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. I had many happy memories during my childhood staying with my Uncle, Auntie, and Cousins during School Holidays. So, it was an easy decision.

On the Gold Coast which was then quite a small city, not the metropolis it is now, I had many different jobs but firstly Electrical Contracting on Domestic and Commercial properties.

In 1983 I was employed by an international lift company which was at that time just entering the Australian Lift Market. I was involved in installing the latest technology lift system of the time. The first of its type in the world. After completion of the installation, I was involved in the Commissioning Troubleshooting, and Servicing of these lifts.

After 11 years I wanted to be involved in some new challenges. I left and joined another international lift company in 1994 and stayed there until 2005.

Again wanting some new challenges and experiences in 2005 I joined a company inspecting and consulting of lift installations of Worldwide Hotel Groups and International Company Property Management Office Towers. This involved travelling to many countries throughout the world.

After the inspections were completed my report would be submitted during meetings with General Managers, Directors of Engineering and Lift Contractors.

Then comes the World Crisis in March 2020 which put an end to my travelling and of course my income.

After some time, due to the World Crisis, I felt I had become disillusioned and felt quite lost as to where my life was heading. I was getting near retirement age and was concerned that I was exhausting my savings. Wondering if I have enough savings to provide me with the income I needed to provide the lifestyle I desired. Would I be able to cover unexpected medical expenses which can come later in my life?

During the  Pandemic my non-existent social life improved, I spent all my time with my wife and enjoyed travelling and exploring new places. This just reinforced my feeling that I wanted Lifestyle Changes to retire to enjoy my life to the fullest. I thought this is the life I want to live now.

After completing some online courses during this time which didn’t lead to anything I wasn’t sure what my next step would be. I did not want to go back to college or university due to my age and looking for retirement. Many people who are doing Tertiary Education these days cannot find the employment that they spent all those years studying to obtain qualifications for high-profile positions.

While surfing the internet I came across Launch You a community of Digital Entrepreneurs who gave me hope for my future. I was sent some free videos about setting up an Online Business. Watched the videos which are so inspiring I thought “This Is Exactly What I Am Looking For!” So inspiring that I joined immediately and started learning Digital Marketing.

I was told that no one is ever too old, only need basic internet skills, didn’t need to invest large amounts of money, didn’t need to have a product or service of my own to sell, I could use other people’s products. If I do have a product or service of my own they will show me how to perfect the selling.

People don’t need to stop their employment immediately, people can still set up an online business by learning the shortcuts needed to set up the business quickly and all on Autopilot even while continuing their current employment until they feel confident enough that they can concentrate wholly on their online business.

The mentoring by the Entrepreneurs and the community gave me the knowledge and confidence to set up my Online Marketing. I continue following the step-by-step processes which are easy to follow and have enabled me to become a Digital Marketer. This gave me the confidence that I do have a future and I can have an income from digital marketing which I have set up to run on Autopilot without me being online all the time.

In reflection, I am amazed at how much I have learned. I would never have been able to set this up by myself I didn’t even know where to start.

Not only did this mentorship give me the confidence to be a Digital Marketer but has also led me on a path of Self Discovery which has given me more confidence and is allowing me to enjoy my life more.

This mentorship is not a Get Rich Quick scam. I was required to have the right mindset, and put in the initial work and patience to ensure there is a success.

After just a few months I have learnt how to make videos to put on YouTube and advertise with Google. If you don’t want to put your face on YouTube then you can use Search advertising. Learn how to use any platforms like Google Ads, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok etc.
